As most of you roses lovers know, the battle with those naughty insects that plan to suck the energy out of your roses continues from spring before the first buds open, until later on in the summer, when the flowers are in full bloom. Insecticide is the solution for summer pests such as thrips and spider mites but the Japanese beetles must be handpicked. Don't dream - as I did - that if you use pesticide once, it will do for the rest of the summer! Unfortunately, you'll have to repeat the spraying as often as you'll need to. I've also tried the homemade pesticide with water and soap but well... in my case it didn't really work that well, so I had to use some more aggressive chemical. You need to check your plant for disease and treat it the right way if the case.
It was not until the 18th century that yellow roses were found to be growing in the Middle East. The history and meaning of yellow roses can be traced back to the Victorian era, where flowers were arranged in specific pattern to convey a hidden message through some code. This floral arrangement was specifically called Tussie-Mussies and is a practice which can be seen even today, in celebrations, parties and even for religious ceremonies. Floral arrangements during the Renaissance and Medieval period were symbolic of moral values and virtues. Arranging flowers in a decorative or ornamental pattern gained popularity from the Victorian era and are carried out to the present times. The unparalleled beauty of the yellow roses does not fail to capture the eye. A single rose or a bunch is often given away to express heartfelt feelings.
As you go throw the different flower parts and its functions, you will understand the male and female parts in detail. All these parts are designed in such a way that their sole purpose is to reproduce. As there are different parts, we can understand each of them properly.
If you are a new rosarian, pruning rose bushes can seem like a mystery for you. It can be a very intimidating, nerve-raking process, especially when the concept is a novelty to you. However, the thing to remember is that pruning is beneficial for your rose plants. While it takes time, experience, and practice, to become an accomplished rose gardener, it is next to impossible that you will kill your rose with bad pruning. So, give a try! It is better than letting them grow uncontrolled and wild.
