To make the potpourri, the first step is to make sure that your roses are in full bloom, before plucking out the petals of both roses. Spread them out properly (make sure they don't overlap) on a newspaper sheet, and along with this, place 2 curly strands of peeled lemon skin to dry out as well. Drying roses is a simple method, when laid out on a paper in open air. You can keep a window open but make sure there are no strong gusts of wind to topple your petals over. As long as a window is open in the room, your petals should be able to dry faster. Once your petals turn brittle to the touch, carefully place them in the jar, and add to this two teaspoons of essential oil, one teaspoon of the bergamot orange fixative, cinnamon sticks, the two long strands of lemon peels and the vanilla bean.
When it comes to watering, roses do best if they have enough water, which means once a week a good soak especially when it is very dry, but you should check the soil's moisture content and if the case water twice a week. However, it you allow the soil to dry (for seven days or so), the rose will be encouraged to develop new roots looking for water and it won't be lazy! When applying water, you need to know that it has to be put on the soil around the rose bush and not on the leaves, if you water the leaves in the evening, the moisture can cause powdery mildew and your plant will then be infected.

The purple rose with its elegant color and amazing fragrance has captured the hearts of millions of people. Like every rose, they have different meanings. As the red roses symbolize the emotion of love, the purple rose stands for love at first sight. Its beauty is enchanting and enthralling, and in the same way this magnificent flower is given to that person who is as beautiful and irresistible as the rose. Receiving it from a person means that he / she has fallen head over heels in love with the receiver. The rose expresses fascination and attraction towards an individual. However, it is said that attraction can be just an infatuation if the rose is of light purple color. In this case, the feeling is not that of permanent or long-lasting love. On the other hand, the dark purple rose symbolizes deep rooted and intimate relationships. It represents love that is true and would stay forever. Hence, they are given as gifts and used as decorations for weddings and also for anniversaries.
