The rose flower has been associated with mythologies, superstitions and legends. This flower is said to symbolize silence. There is a superstition that rose flowers if thrown in fire bring good luck.
If you have a flowering garden, a patio or simply a raised bed bordering the walkways, you often need to plant some attractive looking flowering plants. Roses being the best garden flowers, there are a number of varieties that are available. They are used as an excellent garden plant, because they grow in a bush accommodating large patches of soil, the flowered blooms make the outdoors look gorgeous, and they are easy to care for. One such variety of garden roses is Floribunda which is actually produced by crossing hybrid tea roses with Rosa multiflora (polyantha rose), a wild rose. The reason of crossing these two varieties of roses was to obtain an offspring which had the elaborate and large bloom of the polyantha, and the colors from the tea roses. These roses are very easy to care for but should be done appropriately.
The meanings of the white rose in myths and legends are aplenty. According to Greek mythology, all roses were originally white in color. It then magically developed in other colors, tones, and hues. When Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, was pricked by its thorn, her blooded dripped on the white petals, turning them red. When a beautiful maid kissed it lovingly, it blushed, and turned pink. Hence, these myths and legends point towards the loss of innocence. As a result, this white variety stands for innocence and purity.
These wild flowers, native to North America are nicknamed 'golden rods'. They have flat tops and appear to be shaped like little yellow wands, flitting in the breeze.
