First of all, although rose cuttings can be propagated nearly any month of the year, the month of July has the advantage of being ideal because it is this month that the flowers have faded and the new growth is mature enough to successfully root. What's more, some rose varieties (that normally root with difficulty), will root easier if the stem is not fully matured and still softer. This is why you can take advantage of this month and you can take cuttings until late in the summer as well.
Once your flowers bloom and then fade away, you need to remove them if you want to encourage new flowers growth. Simply cut the stem up to two centimeters and use a clean disinfected tool so as not to spread diseases. If your roses have at least 6 hours of sun per day, they should do well and bloom abundantly; if you keep them in a rather shaded place that affects their development and they will still flower but the quantity and quality of the flowers are diminished.
Once you place the plant in the hole and fill half of it with soil. Add a little water and remove any air pockets present. Fill the remaining hole with soil and finish off the job by pouring water again. Prune off a bit of the top growth after planting. People living in hot and sandy soil locations, should water the 3 top inches of soil regularly. If you live in a cooler, humid location, once a week watering will be enough. If you find the leaves of your rose plant turning dry and withering, you can water more. Deep watering helps in root growth and the plant can survive droughts well.
The Chinese Hibiscus are large trumpet like flowers with five petals. They come in a wide range of colors and are a very hardy garden plant. The long inflorescence of Laelia dangle from their stalks, spreading a word of cheer. Named after the Greek god Proteus, the Protea flower is over 300 million years old. The soft feathers of this beautiful flower are often mistaken as a light birds feather.
